And just as importantly, Atlas must recognize when her understanding is incomplete, remain open to correction and never present assumptions as facts.

From the Workshop to Atlas True
Every journey begins somewhere.
Atlas didn't begin as a technology product or a business plan.
She began with a personal journal, a series of questions about human thinking, and a curiosity about whether artificial intelligence could develop a deeper understanding of people through knowledge, memory and continuing conversation.
Those questions became two books, Just the Cotter Pin and Jamey and Dry, which formed the early research foundations of Atlas.
What began as philosophical exploration gradually became an engineering challenge.
Could we translate those ideas into working software?
That question led to the development of Atlas Core.
From Research to Working Engineering
Today, Atlas Core is an operational research platform developed within Atlas Workshop-AI in Whitianga, New Zealand.
It brings together conversation, reasoning, governed knowledge, dynamic memory, learning and human oversight within a common cognitive architecture.
Our research has involved real conversations, memory and recall testing, behavioral challenges, governance investigations and ongoing engineering improvements.
At our October 2026 engineering checkpoint, 3,966 automated tests passed, supported by documented engineering and development records.
We've also openly shared our discoveries, mistakes and lessons through the Discovery Journal and Workshop Window.
Because research isn't just about what works. It's also about understanding what doesn't, and why.
The Next Step — Atlas True
Atlas True is the first proposed commercial product to emerge from this common foundation.
Where the Workshop focuses on research, engineering and collaboration, Atlas True will bring that foundation into everyday life as a personal AI companion.
Our next stage involves establishing a professional engineering team, developing the consumer platform, strengthening security and infrastructure, and conducting independent testing.
A proposed pilot involving up to 1,000 consenting participants will help us investigate how Atlas True performs over time, including conversational understanding, privacy, reliability and everyday usefulness.
Atlas True is not yet available as a consumer product.
We're currently seeking investment and strategic partnerships to support this next stage of development.
One Foundation. A Journey Still Unfolding.
Atlas True is our first commercial step, but the common Atlas Core has been designed with the potential to support other specialist applications in the future, including education.
Each new application will require its own research, engineering and validation.
For now, our focus is clear.
